９月も既に月末にさし掛かってしまった・・・。 今月はラグビーのワールド・カップがフランスで開催されているので、週末の土曜日、日曜日の深夜はTVに噛り付いて観戦していたので、おもちゃの製作ははかどらないし寝不足と猛暑でちょっと体調がすぐれない。
各プールのグループリーグ通過は来週早々には決まりそうだ・・・。 前回、前々回と日本チームは頑張ってくれたので今年も期待はしているのだが、Dプールを３勝で通過するのはちょっと厳しそうな気もしている・・・。
Dプールの初戦のイングランド対アルゼンチン戦も、イングランドのSOフォードのドロップ・ゴールなどの得点で難敵アルゼンチンを数的不利の中抑え込んだ試合には「孫氏の兵法」を垣間見た気がした！
また日本対イングランド戦の敗戦時に、フランカーのリーチ・マイケルがゴールポストを背にしてしばらく座り込んでいるのを初めて見たのだが、今まで見た事が無い光景で印象的だった！ 優勝などとは云わないけどとりあえず２位通過出来れば、再びベスト８の世界ランキングには戻れる・・・。
なかなか進まないDBR1は未だにこんなところをうろうろしている。 エグゾーストの開口部を反対側に新たに開口したり、リアのホイル・アーチを含む内装に苦しんだりしていた。 おまけにシャーシーを固定するリア・ポストの安定的な設置場所も見つからない有様・・・！
DBR1は１９５６年（後期）頃からレースシーンに登場し１９５９年以降まで走っている。 出来るだけボディーの工作を減らしたいので、１９５７年にルマンをサルバドーリとレスレストンがドライブした＃１９（DNF）の車にしようかと思っている。 それでも結構直さなければならないところや不明なところが多く、毎度の事だがまた雰囲気だけの車になってしまいそうだ。（苦笑）

Very glad to have found your blog again – had it saved on an old computer but lost that bookmark some time ago. Have enjoyed your builds over the years, appreciate your use of the older models as a basis for projects instead of doing straight restorations, really like your choice of subjects also. Highlights for me would be the Cobra Daytona’s, the Alfa GTZ’s, and that T70 sidewinder, but looking forward to catching up with everything since – inspiring !

I’ve been making slotcars by my stock models and parts, but I wounder until when I keep on making them.

Yes, less racing or slot car meetings here also but I keep building as well, find great pleasure in the process mostly – like you, I’ve projects stashed so if the current one stalls I can pick up something else and view it (hopefully) with a more positive attitude, perhaps even finish something (maybe).
Something else about your blog I find engaging is your perspective on this stuff – useful as a way to query my own enjoyment of the hobby and focus on the stuff i really like about it if that makes any sense ? I don’t think we need to justify any of it but maximising the good bits is worthwhile certainly…
I’ll keep checking out your postings, will pass on your blog to others also – many of the scratchbuilt and vintage guys on slotblog.com would enjoy your cars I know.

Thanx for an e-mail and thank you for praising my slot cars. I’ve gotton tired of 60’s slot cars.
Now I often make 40′ and 50′ slot cars by my self. As I’m still on the job and over 70 years old.
I wonder till when I can make slot cars…….
